Marto Popov

Marto Popov, known to electronic music audiences as DJ Konspirator of H.M.S.U., is a Bulgarian music-industry professional working across festival production, event management, artist promotion, label management and touring. For more than two decades, he has helped build the foundations for the rapid growth of Bulgaria’s “drum & bass / jungle” scene while contributing to some of the country’s most significant live-music events. Since joining H.M.S.U. in 2003, Marto has created and promoted events connecting Bulgarian audiences and artists with the wider Balkan and international drum & bass communities. Through H.M.S.U. and his other projects, he has organized hundreds of events and booked more than 700 international artists for performances in Bulgaria. His work includes bringing many of the world’s leading drum & bass event brands to Bulgarian audiences, including The World of Drum & Bass, Metalheadz, Hospitality, RAM, Blackout, etc. For the past decade, Marto has also worked as label manager at Formation Records, an independent British drum & bass label with more than 30 years of history. The role has given him the opportunity to meet and learn directly from pioneers of the UK rave scene.
