Cristina Lupu
Romania
Cristina Lupu, an independent singer-songwriter based in Bucharest, specializes in love songs. She began writing and performing songs in 2008 as part of a local, all-female folk band. In 2015, she participated in The Voice of Romania. Initially a self-taught musician, she later received private guitar and singing lessons. Between 2020 and 2022, she studied vocal jazz at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
Her debut album, SWEET AMNESIA, was released in November 2024. However, most of its songs have been extensively performed live at festivals such as Electric Castle, Waha, DWMT La Conac, Femei pe Matasari, and others.
SWEET AMNESIA is a collection of playful, nostalgic, ironic, and/or angry love stories. It’s a musical confession presented as a one-woman-show, offering a glimpse into the life of an ordinary city girl.
While Cristina Lupu is best known for her solo performances, she also has a full band version of her project, called Marsdelux. The quartet consists of Lucas Contreras (guitar and backing vocals), Denis Bolborea (beatboxing, backing vocals, and effects), and Marina Arsene (backing vocals and effects).
Currently, Cristina Lupu is on tour.
