Sydney Christensen has been with independent record label Kill Rock Stars since 2017, beginning with the company in Portland, Oregon and having since relocated to Berlin where she works remotely. When she started with the label, she counted CDs for inventory and built shelves. Now as Label Manager, she works across artist development, marketing strategy, project management, and A&R. Kill Rock Stars’ DIY roots remain central to its approach, with a focus on amplifying artists’ voices and supporting work that speaks with intention—whether personal, political, or both.

Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in the Pacific Northwest in 1991. Over the years it has released landmark records from Olympia’s punk and riot grrrl scenes, supported experimental and spoken word projects, and continues today with a mix of developing artists and legacy acts.
