Codruța Vulcu is the Director and Founder of the ARTmania Festival, one of Romania’s most established music events, which celebrated its 18th edition this year. Dedicated mainly to rock, progressive, and metal music, the festival has hosted renowned acts such as KORN, Nightwish, Helloween, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree etc. In 2017, Codruța and her team launched the East European Music Conference & Showcase Festival, creating a platform for constructive dialogue between Romania’s private music sector, international experts, and state authorities. She is also the Manager, Producer, and Promoter of Alternosfera, one of the biggest Moldovan/Romanian rock acts.
Codruța also served as Large-Scale Events Director for the 2023 Timișoara European Capital of Culture, where she coordinated the Opening & Closing Events and managed the City Celebration Festival (with over 190 cultural events per edition, featuring artists such as MIKA, Rita Ora, Jessie J, Róisín Murphy, Katie Melua, Passenger, James Bay etc). She is also the President of AROC (the Romanian Association of Concert and Cultural Event Promoters). With a career spanning over 26 years in the cultural and artistic sector, her portfolio includes major events such as serving as Event Director for the official ceremonies led by His Holiness Pope Francis in 2019 on the Field of Liberty in Blaj, Romania.

Her work has been recognized internationally: in 2020, she received the Award for Excellence and Passion at the European Festival Awards (EFA); in 2019, the ARTmania Festival won the trophy for Best Small Festival; and in 2021 she was awarded the “Cultural Merit” Medal by the President of Romania, H.E. Klaus Werner Iohannis, during the official ceremony held at the Cotroceni Palace.

Raised in the spirit of art, Codruța holds a University Degree in Art Photography & Art History from the National University of Arts in Bucharest. During her studies (2000–2005), she exhibited her works in solo shows at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest, and the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki. Since 2024, she has been pursuing further studies at the Institut für Journalistik und Kommunikationsforschung, Hannover, focusing on Media & Music Research.
